Get down to Circus Street Market to see 'Makers at Work'. A photographic exhibition as part of the Brighton Photo Fringe a documentary of makers in their workshops. The project was commissioned as part of the 2014 Brighton Mini Maker Faire to explore the working spaces of four makers.
Over the last decade, the maker movement has become a global cultural force, and the subject of interest from business leaders and policy makers looking to harness the next wave of innovation. These photographs present a glimpse of the places and process of making, and the maker as worker.
Curtis uncovers the working spaces that form an important part of makers’ worlds, from single-purpose metalshops, rooms in homes, a space above a restaurant, to the open fields of the South Downs.
