Urban Playground thrilled spectators with their Parkour inspired 'Inner City' dance performance. The troupe also managed workshops over two days with over 50 local people, including adults and children from the neighbouring Tarner community, learning exciting dance moves in the extraordinary ‘urban decay’ setting of the old market building.
As part of the South East Dance programme Spring/Summer 2014, 'Inner City' is about a group of hi-rise city workers climbing the career ladder, sliding on the slippery slope of success, embarking on an office romance and fighting to make a killing before they get the push. A knockabout, slapstick, comedic choreography for the whole family combining authentic French Parkour with contemporary and urban dance.
